Whitening Teeth With Natural Products

Apples can help you clean your teeth if you are not at home and cannot brush your teeth after a meal.

Today, the fashionable dental treatments are those to whiten the teeth and especially to make them shine with splendor. However, you should know that they are done with invasive products that end up damaging the enamel of our teeth, which is unfortunately irreversible.

You really don’t have to go to these extremes, because if you are looking to have white teeth, you can try the following natural products!

How do you stain your teeth?

The enamel that covers our teeth is slightly porous. It then fills up with what we eat. This is why when we drink wine, or when we eat blueberries, we will quickly see how our teeth take on a purple color.

This is not a problem, since you brush your teeth and it disappears. But on the other hand, some foods or drinks stain teeth much more aggressively. Over time, they start to have a yellowish or even brown color, which is really unsightly!

Colored drinks, such as coffee, tea, or soft drinks, are on the tooth stain list. Smoking and poor oral hygiene also damage our tooth enamel and its porosity.

Watch out for certain foods

The acid in some foods also hurts our teeth. Some things only make the situation worse. Eat meat, dairy products, eggs, citrus fruits, refined sugar, beer, artificial sweeteners, carbonated soft drinks, or vegetable oils for example.

You can also add sweets, but especially the frequency with which you eat them.

The typical mistake is to brush your teeth as soon as you have finished eating. It is true that this prevents cavities from forming, but it also prevents the enamel from recovering its firmness, because it lacks time.

In the opposite line, we also find the foods that help us maintain white teeth. Among the fruits and vegetables, we can therefore cite pears, apples, carrots, cucumbers, cauliflower, lettuce, broccoli and spinach.

Some help us with their fibers. Others because their nutrients create a protective film on the enamel of our teeth, and we avoid staining them.

At the same time, cheeses are also useful, as they contain proteins and fats to neutralize acids from other foods. This is also due to the fact that they stimulate the protection of saliva which contains phosphorus and calcium. This helps the enamel to remineralize!

Homemade recipes for teeth whitening

  • Rub the teeth with the inside of an orange peel for 45 seconds . This is the white part that is between the rind and the quarters, which is called the mesocarp. In fact, this part contains a substance that can make your teeth whiter. Brush your teeth half an hour later.
  • Make a baking soda strawberry paste. Strawberries act as a natural bleach. Just crush this fruit and then mix it with the other ingredient. Apply the paste to the teeth and leave on for 20 minutes, then you can rinse. Wait 30 minutes and brush your teeth as usual.
  • Eat a slice of papaya or even an apple daily. These fruits serve to strengthen the gums while at the same time leaving our teeth white.
  • Spread some wood ash on the toothbrush and then wash your teeth as usual.
  • Place two tablespoons of sage leaves in a cup of boiling water. Then let cool and wash the mouth after each meal. You can also chew a leaf after eating.

Hydrogen peroxide to whiten teeth

  • Mix two tablespoons of hydrogen peroxide with water. Dip a cotton swab and gently rub the stained teeth. Rinse it off with plenty of water.
  • Make a homogeneous dough with a tablespoon of brewer’s yeast, 2 teaspoons of salt and a little water. Then brush your teeth with this preparation as it was a toothpaste.
  • Rub your teeth with the inside of a banana peel for two minutes. You can do this as many times as you want during the day. Banana peel contains salicylic acid which exerts an excellent whitening power on the enamel!
  • Mix half a cup of brewer’s yeast with two tablespoons of salt until it forms a paste. Brush your teeth with it.
  • Make some activated charcoal dust and place it on your toothbrush. Then rub your teeth with it. While it is true that you may experience a strange sensation (like with wood ash), many people claim that it is the best remedy for whitening teeth!

Baking soda for teeth whitening

All of the home remedies that have been detailed above are very effective if you are looking to leave your teeth as white in color as pearls. Know, however, that everyone agrees that there is no better treatment than baking soda.

It is a far more than ecological and very healthy alternative for your teeth. If you prefer, you can even stop using the toothpaste thanks to the baking soda!

  • Pour 1/4 of a tablespoon of baking soda into a cup
  • Then moisten the toothbrush with tap water.
  • Dip it in the baking soda so that it sticks to the brush,
  • Then rub your teeth as if you were using any toothpaste.

If you put in large amounts, there may be a salty or sour taste in your mouth, but don’t worry, as this will go away as soon as you rinse well with water.

However, remember not to do it too often. Indeed, an  excessive use can damage tooth enamel.  You have to do everything with the correct amount and really be careful when applying. We recommend that you do this one week apart, then just once a month, no more.
