This is the most popular recipe. You will see that it is not very difficult to do, and that once you have mastered this preparation, you will be able to add ingredients and transform the traditional recipe a little to adapt it to all your desires.

Carefully follow the instructions we give you below and you will see that in less than 10 minutes,  your dish will be on your table, ready to be tasted. A good idea would also be to accompany it with a homemade sauce and a cold drink.

Ingredients

  • 10 frankfurter sausages (approx. 500 g)
  • 10 wooden sticks for skewers
  • 2 cups of wheat flour (240 g)
  • 1 egg
  • ½ cup of milk (125 ml)
  • 4 tablespoons of vegetable oil (60 ml)
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1 tablespoon of baking powder (15 g)

Preparation

  1. Start by impaling the sausages one by one on the skewers.
  2. Then prepare the breadcrumbs. To do this, you will need the following ingredients: wheat flour, egg, baking powder and liquid milk.
  3. Then beat all the ingredients in a medium bowl using a whisk until you get a smooth, lump-free consistency that’s thick enough, but malleable enough to stick to the whisk.
  4. Pour the mixture into a glass or mug (depending on your preference) and dip the sausages in it.
  5. Finally, fry them until they turn brown and take on the classic appearance of some corn dogs.

This is a small variation on the classic preparation, but it is also very popular. This recipe offers you the possibility to add an additional ingredient and therefore to give your corn dogs a more contrasting and irresistible flavor.

Ingredients

  • 10 Frankfurters (500 g)
  • 1 tablespoon of baking powder (15 g)
  • 10 slices of sandwich cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup of milk (250 ml)
  • 4 tablespoons of vegetable oil (60 ml)
  • 1 cup of wheat flour (120 g)
  • 1 cup of corn flour (120 g)
  • 10 wooden sticks for skewers

Preparation

  1. Start by impaling all the sausages on the sticks.
  2. Next, wrap a slice of sandwich cheese over each sausage. To stick it, tap vigorously with your fingertips. Repeat with all the sausages and set aside.
  3. Then prepare the breadcrumbs. For this you will need eggs, wheat flour, corn flour, milk and baking powder.
  4. Beat everything with a whisk and you will get a consistency similar to that of the classic corn dog recipe.
  5. Finally, soak each of the sausages in the mixture, remove the excess and fry them until golden and crispy.
